FAQ
Is this the same as the DiSC® / Everything DiSC® assessment?
No. DiSC® and Everything DiSC® are registered trademarks of John Wiley & Sons, Inc., and this test is not affiliated with those products in any way. Soundary wrote its own items and interpretations using only Marston's publicly described 1928 four-factor behavioral model, and this is not a substitute for the official products with their certified-facilitator debrief.
What does the DISC test tell me?
DISC does not rank people as better or worse. It maps how you tend to behave across four axes — Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Conscientiousness — showing how you speak, decide and handle conflict, and which working environments feel most natural to you.
How is DISC different from MBTI?
MBTI describes preferences in perceiving and deciding, while DISC focuses on observable behavior and communication. That is why DISC is often used for teamwork, sales and leadership, and why results are best read as a blend of four scores rather than one fixed label.
Does my DISC type stay the same for life?
No. DISC reflects current behavior more than fixed temperament, so scores can shift when your job, role or relationships change. Many people also behave differently at work and at home, so read your result alongside the context you had in mind while answering.
Can DISC results be used for hiring or team placement?
It is useful as a conversation starter but not as a selection criterion. DISC was not designed to predict job performance or ability, and being self-reported it is sensitive to how you answer. Use it to understand each other's communication styles and agree on ways of working together.

The DISC assessments in circulation today are derivative instruments that various organizations each developed on the basis of this model; this test brings over items from none of them and refers only to the model concept Marston published. This test uses items written by Soundary based on published theoretical models and academic literature. It is not any commercial instrument or a translation of one.
