FAQ
What does the focus battery actually measure?
It looks at several branches of attention rather than one. Sustained attention (staying on task), inhibition (holding back a wrong response), selective attention (finding a target among distractors), working memory, and task switching are each probed by separate tasks, then combined into one overall focus score.
How long does it take, and can I take breaks?
The full set of eight tasks takes roughly 20–25 minutes, with each task running two to three minutes. Short breaks between tasks are fine, but stepping away mid-task distorts your reaction times and pushes the score lower than it really is. A quiet room with notifications off gives the cleanest result.
Does a low score mean I have ADHD?
No. This is a self-check of how you performed today, not a diagnostic tool. Poor sleep, fatigue, stress, caffeine, cold medicine, and depression or anxiety can all pull scores down on their own. If low scores repeat across sessions and daily life, work, or study is affected, it is worth seeing a mental health professional.
How often should I retake it?
Every two to four weeks works well. Testing too often adds a practice effect that inflates scores, while long gaps make trends hard to read. For fair comparison, use the same time of day, the same device, and a similar condition, and note when sleep or medication changed so the trend line is easier to interpret.
